New research on the value of the tobacco sector
Research commissioned by the TMA reveals that over 70,000 jobs are directly and indirectly supported by the tobacco industry in the UK.
The research conducted by Cogent shows that over 5,700 are directly employed in high value jobs and that the industry indirectly supports around 66,000 elsewhere in the economy – 20,000 in the supply chain, 46,000 in distribution, retail and forward linkages**.
