Ingredients
- The UK has had for many years a voluntary system for the regulation of ingredients, as a result of extensive co-operation between the companies, the Government and Government-appointed Committees.
- UK tobacco companies have regularly had discussions with the Department of Health (DH) about modifications to the list of approved additives and continue to seek engagement on the assessment and reporting process for additives.
- All UK tobacco manufacturers have agreed only to use ingredients in tobacco products for consumption in the UK that are approved and within permitted limits in accordance with a list held on the DH website: http://www.dh.gov.uk/ab/scoth/dh_095371#_4.
