In October 2009, the Center for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) published a report, which examined the impact of proposed tax increases on the legal and illicit tobacco market. CEBR report 161009.
Opinion Polls
A Populus survey conducted in September 2009 on behalf of the TMA shows that 64% of people interviewed agreed that a ban on tobacco displays at the point of sale would not stop those under the legal age from starting to smoke.
A Holden Pearmain Smokers’ Panel survey of 1000 adult 18+ smokers for the TMA, conducted in May 2010, focussed on the issue of smoking in public places.
